Boards of Directors

Bethesda's Board of Directors

Members

An 18-member board of directors guides the future of Bethesda and establishes its policies.

Meetings

The board meets quarterly (February, May, August and November), and the four-member executive committee meets four times a year to carry on business in-between board meetings.

Elections

Members of the corporation elect the board. Corporate membership is open to adults who belong to congregations affiliated with the Missouri Synod, Wisconsin Synod or Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Members of other Lutheran church bodies may become Friends of Bethesda. This entitles them to a non-voting voice at the annual meeting.

Balloting for board positions is done by mail prior to the annual meeting in November. Four Missouri Synod board members serve at large. All others are elected from geographic regions.

The Foundation Board of Directors

The Bethesda Lutheran Home Foundation, Inc. was established in 1979 and acts as an endowment to provide for the long-term future of Bethesda's mission and ministry.

Members

The Foundation Board is managed by a volunteer board of up to 23 members. The members of the board are chosen because of their dedication and commitment to our ministry and their financial, investment and business expertise.

Responsibilities

The Foundation Board manages and invests endowment funds, Unitrusts, Annuity Trusts, Pooled Income Funds and Discretionary Trusts exclusively for the benefit of Bethesda and our commitment to caring for people with developmental disabilities. By building the assets of the Foundation, we ensure future security for the people we serve . . . regardless of government or economic changes. [Help Support the Foundation]
