(June 16, 2008) Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. will host the Good Shepherd Communities Golf Challenge in Oregon on Monday, June 30. The tournament, to be held at Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha, begins with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m.

“We are really looking forward to another great day of fellowship and golf,” says Dr. John E. Bauer, president and CEO of Bethesda. “Last year we were able to raise a net profit of over $35,000, all of which stayed in the Oregon region to help support the individuals we serve in our local programs.”

The venue, which once hosted the PGA Champions Tour Major, should prove to be an ideal place for a relaxing round of golf, featuring a rotating course format and two distinct 18-hole courses.

In addition to a beautiful golf course, the tournament will include other events, such as contests and an auction. “We have a huge variety of raffle and auction items,” says Katey Higgins, Special Events Director for Bethesda. “These include Lasik vision corrective surgery, spa packages and gift certificates for travel, restaurants, entertainment and more. There will also be a chance to win $10,000 cash.”

The deadline for tournament registration is Monday, June 23 and is managed in a first come, first served manner. The registration fee is $200 and includes green fees, golf cart and driving range, as well as a post-tournament banquet.

To register, visit www.blhs.org/?golf, or contact Katey Higgins at 800.383.8743, ext. 4432.
