Watertown, Wis. (July 1, 2008) - Connie Horn, an Educational Specialist at Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc., has won the Middle Management Award from Residential Services Association (RSA) of Wisconsin.
The award went to Horn because of her positive leadership style and her work on behalf of Bethesda. Horn has been with the organization for 20 years, starting as a Direct Support Professional and Staff Development Instructor, before taking on her current position.
“It was an honor to receive the award,” says Horn. “In keeping with Bethesda’s mission and vision, the people we support are first and foremost in everything I do.”
In her current position, Horn writes scripts for Bethesda training videos, distributed to trainers nationwide; writes columns for Sidelines, Bethesda’s e-newsletter for trainers; and leads a variety of classes for staff who work in the field of developmental disabilities.
RSA is a not-for-profit membership and service organization comprised of operators of all community living arrangements and interested agencies and citizens.
Now in its second century of service, Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. provides services and supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the country and around the world. Bethesda offers many different types of services for individuals and their families, including a variety of residential settings, supported-living programs and outreach services.
