Jennifer Becher Named Bethesda’s Corporate Employee of the Year

Watertown, Wis. (July 2, 2008) - Jennifer Becher, Corporate Director of Management Development and Employee Relations at Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc., was named Bethesda’s corporate employee of the year at the recent Employee Recognition Ceremony, which took place at the corporate center. Becher has been with Bethesda for 12 years, first serving in Operations before moving into her current position in Human Resources.

Also nominated for the award were Ellen Hierl, an instructor in Education and Resources, Katey Higgins, Director of Special Events, and Reuben Schmitz, Corporate Director of Development. To be considered for this distinction, employees must be with the company for at least one year and be nominated by at least one of their co-workers.

“We are blessed to have so many great employees,” says president and CEO, Dr. John E. Bauer. “Without their continued dedication to the mission of Bethesda, we would not be able to maintain the excellence in services and supports people have come to expect from us.”

The Employee Recognition Ceremony also honored corporate employees who are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year. This year, the following employees received longevity awards: Paula Schoenike, 30 years; Sharon Whelan, 25 years; Tom Heuer, 20 years; John Nickels, 20 years; Karl Rosenberg, 20 years; Joan Hartwig, 15 years; Karen Johnson, 15 years; Jeff Kaczmarski, 15 years; Candice McDarment, 15 years; Lynne Zinn, 15 years; David Geske, 10 years; Debbi Groeler, 10 years; Perry Haugen, 10 years; Jim Wesley, 10 years; Rita Bergmann, five years; Angela Gilbert, five years; Todd Redalen, five years; Sandra Rice, five years; Greg Rutzen, five years; Dan Scherer, five years; Shirley Tessmann, five years.

These employees were presented with plaques and a small gift as a token of appreciation for their service to Bethesda.

Now in its second century of service, Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the country and around the world. Bethesda offers many different types of services for individuals and their families, including a variety of residential settings, supported-living programs and outreach services.
