Watertown, Wis. (July 17, 2008) - The Good Shepherd Communities, a program of Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc., was recently nominated as one of the best companies to work for in Shasta County. Awarded by The Smart Business Resource Center, Bethesda received this distinction based on nominations from its employees.

“We’re very proud of all our employees whose hard work earned this nomination,” says Dr. John E. Bauer, president and CEO of Bethesda, “They make it possible for Bethesda to maintain the level of quality and commitment who offer those we serve and support.”

The qualifications for nomination were that the workplace offers a great working environment and the company offers ongoing training and advancement opportunities for its employees, as well as provides a superior overall experience for its customers. There were three categories of awards given out, based on number of employees at each company. Bethesda was nominated in the 51 and greater category.

“We are thrilled that our employees see Bethesda as such a great place to work,” says Shirlene Zitterman, a Human Resources coordinator and trainer with Bethesda in Shasta County.

Now in its second century of service, Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the country and around the world. Bethesda offers many different types of services for individuals and their families, including a variety of residential settings, supported-living programs and outreach services.
