A Man Who Really Loves His Job

Gerald Puska

Gerald Puska isn’t the kind of man who likes to sit around. That’s why he’s an active participant in the Day Services Program in Watertown, Wis.

Gerald participates in the program five days a week to work, have fun, learn new things, and meet new people. He interacts and expresses himself in a positive way as a result of the friendships he has made. In fact, that’s what keeps him going.

Like many of us, Gerald thrives on the connection and energy of other people and delights in activities going on throughout the day. According to staff, he has become the “welcoming committee” of Day Services . . . greeting and introducing visitors as they come through the door. Gerald has come a long way from the days when he couldn’t leave his room or get out of bed.

Gerald is proud of his accomplishments and new skills learned through work opportunities within Day Services, such as recycling and working for local employers. Now he is an active participant in any event that happens to be going on.
