The Advocate Program

The cover of The Advocate flyer

The cover of The Advocate flyer - winter, 2005

The Advocate Program is a group of volunteers who are reaching out to share God's love by distributing information about Bethesda and its services to members of their congregations.

The Role of a Bethesda Advocate

A packet of information including The Advocate flyer is sent to each Bethesda Advocate quarterly. We encourage Advocates to photocopy the flyer and cut it into the appropriate sections for distribution (i.e. youth leader section, Ladies Aid, etc.). The packet also contains information on such items as our scholarship and awards program, Vacation Bible school ideas, Mental Retardation Awareness Month, and our Co-op program.

After distributing the information, most Advocates then post the original flyer on a bulletin board for members of the congregation to read.

Why become a Bethesda Advocate?

Advocates are helping Bethesda open the doors of thousands of congregations to people with disabilities. Through education and information more people with disabilities will discover the saving grace of the Gospel.
