|Caretaker Program
The Caretaker Program supplies financial support to individuals that Bethesda serves who have the most financial need.
Why give to the Caretaker Program?
Most of the people Bethesda serves receive state or federal funding, like Social Security, Title XIX (Medicaid) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). However, none of these cover the full cost of care.
Other people we serve receive no government assistance. Families often feel responsible for their bills, but most of them can not pay what it costs for Bethesda to provide services to their loved one - and sometimes there is no family! That is why Caretakers are such a blessing.
What is the role of the Caretaker?
A Bethesda Caretaker can choose to make a one-time gift or regular annual or monthly gifts.
Monthly caretakers will receive a packet of 12 monthly envelopes for mailing their contributions. Caretakers who give every three months, six months or annually will receive reminders at appropriate intervals.
Gifts to the Caretaker program are tax deductible. Gifts contributed to this fund are pooled together and at the end of the fiscal year, the funds are applied directly to the accounts of those people with the largest cost-of-care balances, in accordance with the guidelines determined by Bethesda.
How do I become a Caretaker?
You can sign up and make your first gift to the Caretaker Program online, or you can contact one of our development representatives who can answer any questions and assist you in becoming a Caretaker.
