|Become a Member or Friend of Bethesda
Become a Bethesda Member or Friend today and help guide the policies and ministry of our mission to those with developmental disabilities. Your Membership/Friendship, as well as your financial support, makes a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
Members of Bethesda
According to the Bylaws of Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc., membership in the corporation is open to people affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS).
Members may:
- Attend Bethesda's annual meetings
- Nominate and elect Bethesda's Board of Directors
- Be nominated for Board membership if over the age of 25
Friends of Bethesda
For people who wish to have their voices heard, but who are not members of LCMS, WELS or ELS congregations, we encourage them to become Friends of Bethesda. Friends are not voting members of the corporation, but their support, input, involvement and prayers are all important to the success of our ministry.
Friends may:
- Attend Bethesda's annual meetings
- Be nominated as the Board representative of the Friends of Bethesda
How do I become a Member or Friend of Bethesda?
You may join as a Member or Friend of Bethesda in one of two ways.
Basic Annual or Multi-year Membership/Friendship
The cost to be a Member or Friend of Bethesda is just $5 per year.
For your convenience, you may sign up for more than one year at a time at $5 per year. In this way, renewal mailings will be reduced, saving much-needed funds for Bethesda and reducing your amount of mail.
Lifetime Membership/Friendship
There are four different levels from which a lifetime Member/Friend may choose:
- Benefactor - $1000
- Shepherd - $500
- Protector - $250
- Provider - $100
Payment at any of these levels may be arranged in four quarterly installments if you wish. Plus, these payments may be partially tax-deductible. All new lifetime members will have the opportunity to be listed in our annual report. Lifetime "Benefactors" may also be specially recognized through our "Roll of Honor" program.
