Matching Gifts

Many companies and corporations will match the charitable gifts of their current and retired employees. Bethesda is fortunate to be eligible for many of these "matched gifts."

Which companies participate in matching gifts?

Contact Bethesda's development department at 1.800.383.8743, ext. 3528 to see if your employer is on our list of matching gift companies, or check with your employer and ask them if they would match a gift to Bethesda. Many times, the employer will have a form for you to fill out and send to us.

Members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans (formerly AAL and LB)

If you are a Thrivent Financial member or have any policies and products with them, you are eligible to participate in their GivingPlus Matching Gift Program.

Thrivent Financial members age 16 or older may make a contribution of up to $600 per member to each of any two eligible Lutheran organizations, including Bethesda, annually. Each member may match gifts to a total of two different groups per calendar year. Multiple gifts may be given throughout the year and may be submitted for matching when recieved by Bethesda as long as each gift is accompanied by a signed Thrivent form. The minimum for a gift to be matched no longer applies.

Facts About Thrivent Financial Member Matching Gifts

• Gifts matched by Thrivent Financial are based on a per-member match, not a per-certificate/policy match. In other words, if both a husband and wife are Thrivent Financial members, each one can have gifts to Bethesda School matched up to $600 per year.
• A new GivingPlus application form is needed with each gift you would like matched. [See instructions below to download the form.]
• Gifts are to be made payable to Bethesda Lutheran Home School.
• Gifts can be matched at any time throughout the calendar year.
• The same gift can be matched by Thrivent Financial and your employer or the company from which you are retired.

How do I make a matching gift?

Simply include the appropriate matching gift form from your employer and/or Thrivent Financial with your next gift to Bethesda.
