Debborah Zubke of Watertown has accepted the North Division Operations Officer position at Bethesda. Currently she serves as the North Central Regional Director but will take responsibility for services Bethesda provides in Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, Illinois, Eastern Missouri, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and New Jersey.

Zubke’s experience will be an asset in shaping the position, and she is familiar with Bethesda’s supports and services. For the past nine months she has been assisting the GSC region and serving as Interim COO. This experience will undoubtedly be useful to Zubke as she will be overseeing parts of the former GSC region. “With my years of experience at Bethesda, I am completely in sync with our mission, vision and values,” she says.

Bethesda is growing rapidly and one of Zubke’s primary goals is to help set a corporate direction. She would like to contribute ideas for determining goals of the organization and assist in the implementation of the strategic plan the Board of Directors has created.

In regards to Bethesda’s recent growth with the GSC acquisition, Zubke has been there before. “My region has doubled in the past five years, we’ve seen a lot of growth and we plan to see a lot more,” she says.

One major goal for Zubke is to implement best practice throughout the organization. She will also work on seeking Council on Quality and Leadership accreditation for services and programs within their divisions.

“Debborah has proven to be a leader at Bethesda,” stated Dr. David Geske, President and CEO. “Her input and ideas show her depth of knowledge and commitment to our organization.” Being the first person to hold a position can be intimidating, however, Zubke is confident. “It’s exciting to play a larger role in developing our organization,” said Zubke. “It’s been an exciting 31 years and I think it’s going to get more exciting.”
