Involving Families and Guardians

Professionals come and go. But most parents will remain and advocate well into their children's adult lives. People with developmental disabilities experience many losses; losing contact with their families or guardians could be their biggest loss of all.

After completing this module, the learner will:

  • List three common barriers that are difficult for staff to overcome
