Sheri Berg
Sheri has a B.S. degree in recreation resource management from University of Wisconsin-Madison. As Director of Staff Development, Sheri is responsible for the overall training of Bethesda's staff. She began work at Bethesda in 1979. During that time, she has served in various management positions in residential and community services. Prior to coming to Bethesda, Sheri was an activity director at a residential facility.
David Morstad
David has a master's degree in special education and has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for the past 25 years. He is a widely-published author of educational materials for children and adults with disabilities. He has taught numerous college courses including Introduction to Supervision, Human Behavior in the Workplace, and Coaching and Counseling Staff. For many years as Bethesda’s education and resources administrator, David was reponsible for Bethesda's staff development, internal quality assurance and the National Christian Resource Center. He currently serves Bethesda as the Chief Communications Officer.
Joe Perron, Ph.D.
Joe is a 1992 doctoral graduate in rehabilitation psychology from the Univeristy of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been licensed as a psychologist since 1993. His interest in working with people with disabilities has extended over a long period of time. He has worked in several residential settings as a living area supervisor, behavior treatment director and psychologist.
As Director of Psychological Services, Joe's contact with persons living in the community has increased. His work with the Wisconsin Early Autism Project has given him additional experience in integrating individuals with autism into various community settings. Joe follows the philosophy that the most can be done for individuals with disabilities by increasing their skill level. It is in everyone's best interest to go beyond understanding the behavior and to teach a more effective way of interacting with the environment.
Ellen Hierl
Ellen has a B.S. in Education from Maranatha Baptist Bible College and has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for the past 12 years. At Bethesda, she is responsible for on-site training and distance learning for several hundred staff at various locations. Ellen also develops staff training materials, including videos, self-study materials and on-the-job training checklists.
Connie Horn
Connie has 19 years experience working in the field of developmental disabilities and over 16 years experience in staff development. At Bethesda, she is responsible for on-site training and distance learning for several hundred staff at various locations. Connie also develops staff training materials, including videos, self-study materials and on-the-job training checklists.
Todd Redalen
Todd has a master's degree in education and has worked in the education and developmental disability services field for his entire professional career. In his current position as the Quality Enhancement Coordinator, his work focuses on developing and delivering training, conducting internal quality assurance reviews, and advancing quality enhancement initiatives, including accreditation. Todd has worked as a live-in direct support staff, residential supervisor/QMRP, youth employment training specialist, and classroom instructor. He has also held a programmatic/administrative position in the public school setting.
Kate Dunbar
Kate Dunbar, B.A., is the administrator of Bethesda's supported living programs in central Illinois. With more than 13 years of experience in the field, Kate oversees all aspects of Bethesda's services to more than 40 individuals who have developmental disabilities. Those individuals serve on the agency's Human Rights, Safety and Quality Enhancement Committees. They also participate in interviewing, hiring and evaluating all staff. In 2003, the homes under Kate's leadership achieved a cumulative survey score of 100% from the Illinois Dept. of Human Services.
