Bethesda's National Christian Resource Center, located in Watertown, Wis., is a service which provides resources worldwide to families of people with developmental disabilities, pastors, volunteers, teachers and professionals in the field of developmental disabilities.
What resources are available through the NCRC?
Resource and educational materials
The NCRC has a large collection of books, journals and other resources which focus on developmental disabilities. Of primary importance is the collection of religious educational materials, both current and historical.
Information on health care facilities
The NCRC can assist in obtaining contact information and details about the services offered at health care facilities around the world.
Staff Development Catalog
The NCRC's Staff Development Catalog provides staff development programs for health care professionals in the field of developmental disabilities.
Special Religious Education Catalog
The NCRC's Special Religious Education Catalog provides religious education materials for people with developmental disabilities.
Workshops
NCRC representatives are available to lead workshops and seminars on many topics related to disability issues and how to provide services to people with developmental disabilities in community settings.
Referrals
The NCRC provides referrals to people seeking services for a family member who has a developmental disability and to people seeking resources to assist in sharing God's Word with someone who has a developmental disability.
Who can use NCRC resources?
Anyone interested in learning more about developmental disabilities is welcome to use these resources. It can be:
- a health care facility requesting a workshop to help train its staff,
- a teacher or pastor requesting special resource materials,
- a parent requesting referral information,
- or a manager requesting staff training videos.
